23 July

Arrive in Delhi at 0615 am and transfer to hotel East Park Inn.  Instant check in (rooms from previous night) to allow you to have a good rest . Today free day in Karol Bagh area.

24/07 Delhi/Srinagar ( B/L/D)

Transfer to the airport to connect  your flight to Srinagar.  IMPORTANT: Kindly note that domestic airlines allow only one 15 kilos of check in bag and one 7 kilo hand bag. Any extra baggage is payable at check-in quoted below at time of issuing air tickets. Dep: Delhi      0955hrs  6E/AI,   Arr:  Srinagar 1130 hrs . Arrival at Srinagar airport and transfer to your houseboat in Dal Lake. You shall be served Lunch in the houseboat and have free time  to rest. You will enjoy a beautiful view of  the Kashmiri Himalayas from the deck of Athena houseboats.  Late Afternoon, enjoy a shikara ride in the back lanes of Dal Lake and see the local’s way of life. Dinner and overnight at houseboat. 

25/07 Srinagar (B/D)

Day excursion to Gulmarg (50 kms – 02 hours one way) Gulmarg (50 kms, 2 hrs 30 mins). Gulmarg at 2730 m is like a fantasy set in a film with lush green meadows and snow-capped mountains all around.  Enjoy an included Gandola ride (cable car) from Gulmarg to Khalinmarg (First label) & get the beautiful view of Himalayas covered with snow. Dinner and overnight at houseboat

26/07 Srinagar (B/D)

Visit the Mughal gardens, known as Nishat, Shalimar gardens, Chashme shahi & Old city. Later afternoon free , free time for shopping time at the oulevard.

27/07 Srinagar/Kargil (200 kms (6 hrs) (B/D)

After an early breakfast ,drive to Kargil via Sonmarg. You will cross over the beautiful ZoJila pass at 3528 meters where you can see snow glaciers from the pass. Enroute visit Kargil War Museum known for the velour of Indian soldiers (copies of Passport and Visa for whole group needed). Kargil is situated on river Suru and its very peaceful place, known for local apricots. You shall see Apricots hanging on trees because they start ripening late June to early August. Stay and Dinner at your hotel.

28/07 Kargil/Leh

Today drive to Leh, enroute visit Lamayuru and ancient Alchi monasteries, stop  and visit of   the Sikh temple where fresh hot tea is served all the time . Stop enroute at the magnetic hill a famous “gravity hill” where vehicles in neutral appear to roll uphill, creating an optical illusion of defying gravity. Continue drive to Leh arriving by evening. 

29/07 Day excursion to Thiksey and Hemis Monastery.

Thiksey: 19 kms from and Leh spectacularly sited, Thiksey is one of the largest and architecturally most impressive gompas.  There are several temples in this gompa containing images, stupas and wall paintings of Buddha which are exquisite.  Hemis: 40 kms from Leh it is the wealthiest best known and biggest gompa of Ladakh. Its popularity stems from the major annual festival held here in summer. The festival is in honor of guru padma  samb-hav’s  birth anniversary. it also has the largest thangka in Ladakh which is unfurled once in 12 years. This year it was from 28/29 June. On these days hundreds of pilgrims will gather at hemis to pay their tribute and homage.

30/07 LEH

AM visit Stok palace and Museum, Lah palace and Shanti stupa. After noon,roam around the local Leh bazaar.

31/07 LEH – Pangong Lake (B/D)

Day excursion to Pangong Lake, made popular by Three Idiots movie. We go over Chang La Pass  at 17000 feet on the way to beautiful Lake Pangong. Pangong Lake, situated at a height of almost 13,500 feet, is the world’s highest saltwater lake. Its water, which seems to be dyed in blue, stand in stark contrast to the arid mountains surrounding it. Extending to almost 160km, one-third of the Pangong Lake lies in India and the other two-third is in China. 

01/08 LEH (B/D)

Free in Leh to  visit the local Bazaar for shopping.  We also suggest an optional visit at the Indian air force museum (by yourself) next to the airport .This will give you a  real insight into the history of Leh ,the 1999 Kargil war and 1962 China war. 

02/08 LEH/Delhi (B)

Morning transfer to Leh airport for flight to Leh. (Check in bag 1 piece 15 kilo and hand bag up to 7 kilo)              Dep : Leh 1300 hrs        6E/2049             Arr :  Delhi 1540 hrs You will be Met at Delhi airport and proceed to a  panoramic tour of New Delhi ,vising India gate and on a  driving tour of  the government building, Parliament and President house..  Evening ,visit an Indian home to meet up an Indian family .You will enjoy home cooked snacks and drinks. It’s a fun filled insight to an Indian home. There after, check-in at Hotel Debenture.
