Following the Malaysian government’s announcement on 16 March of further restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the restrictions under the ‘Movement Control Order’, which will be in effect from 18 March to at least 31 March, will ban all foreigners from entering the country and ban all Malaysian citizens from leaving the country.

Returning citizens and residents will be subject to a health inspection and 14-day quarantine.

The government has not yet specified if foreigners are able to leave the country after 18 March.
