MK General Policy – Refund and Rebooking re COVID-19 Issue 4

For tickets issued on or before 31 March 2020

1. Rebooking will be allowed free of charge even if the fare rule for the particular fare concerned specifies “No Change” or “Change with Penalty”.

For departures until 31 December 2020 – For travel on Air Mauritius (MK) operated flights only

  • Passengers will be able to change their travel dates without change fees for the same itinerary.
  • Any difference in fare due to change in booking class on Air Mauritius (MK) or higher seasonality will be ignored provided travel is in same cabin class i.e. Economy or Business.

For departures until 31 December 2020 – For itineraries involving travel on Air Mauritius (MK) operated flights in conjunction with other airlines on the same ticket

  • Passengers will be able to change their travel dates without change fees for the same itinerary.
  • Any difference in fare due to change in booking class on Air Mauritius (MK) or higher seasonality will be ignored, provided travel is in same cabin class i.e. Economy or Business. However, the same booking class must be available on other airlines as per original ticket.

For departures as from 01 January 2021

  • Passengers will be able to change their travel dates without change fees for the same itinerary.
  • Passengers will be charged for any additional amount resulting from higher fare types, higher RBDs being booked, higher seasonality, rerouting, change of feeder airline or connecting airline

 

2. If passenger’s travel plan is uncertain, a voucher (EMD) that is good for further transportation may be issued. The voucher will be valid for 24 months as from its issuance date with the same face value of the original ticket plus a bonus comprised of an additional 10% to the base fare and YQ value.

  • All penalties for cancellation will be waived.
  • The voucher is transferable to another passenger.
  • After 24 months full refund at original ticket value may be granted if the passenger makes such a request
  • EMDs already issued good for further transportation prior to 01 April 2020 in the same COVID-19 policy context may be reissued with the 10% bonus

 

3. Passengers who wish to have their ticket refunded will be charged the applicable cancellation fees as per the fare rules of the original ticket.

For tickets issued from 01 April to 31 May 2020

1. Rebooking in same RBD (booking class) will be allowed free of charge even if the fare rule for the particular fare concerned specifies “No Change” or “Change with Penalty”.

  • Passengers will be charged for any additional amount resulting from higher fare types, higher RBDs being booked, higher seasonality, rerouting, change of feeder airline or connecting airline.

2. For passengers who wish to cancel, an EMD for further transportation valid for 01 year as from EMD issuance date may be issued at the full face value of the original ticket. All cancellation fees will be waived.

3. Passengers who wish to have their ticket refunded will be charged the applicable cancellation fees as per the fare rules of the original ticket.

 

Note that the code “Covid19” should be shown in the endorsement box for issued and reissued documents.
