Sight-Seeing
Without having an agenda, there are so many incredible things to see and do in Athens. Fluffy friendly cats roam the city, and locals leave food and water out for them so they don’t bother you while you eat. The Acropolis is far larger than I had anticipated, and you’ll learn so much about Greek history. If you’re visiting during the summer, it’s best to leave early in the morning or later in the afternoon/evening to catch the spectacular sunset over the city.

Shopping
There are shops everywhere in Athens, so finding a spot to shop will not be difficult. Many well-known businesses, such as Sephora and Guess, as well as other European names, can be found on;

  • Ermou Street. If you keep walking, you’ll come across a plethora of wonderful restaurants, each having a stunning setting for evening eating, as well as musicians performing in the streets.
  • Monastiraki is Athens’ main market, where you can buy traditional leather shoes and bags, as well as spices, olives, cheese, and souvenirs.
  • Plaka is a charming little section of the ancient town with narrow alleyways that appear to be designed solely for pedestrians. There are a lot of restaurants and businesses here, and everyone is really nice. It’s also at the foot of the Acropolis, so you’ll get some spectacular views.
  • Kolonaki is an aristocratic neighborhood with Gucci, Dior, and Cartier among the luxury labels. Many high-end restaurants and bars, as well as hotels, can be found there.
